September 2025 Update

Local farms are starting to transition from summer produce to fall produce, and the harvest will be bountiful. Peach season is over (and it was a very good peach season this year), and now we start to welcome apples, pears, and persimmons. Less peppers and eggplant, more greens. The changing of seasons is what makes Radius so special. Expect our produce displays to change quite a bit in the coming weeks — we’re very excited to showcase the Central Texas fall harvest.
We have a few new programs and updates for September:
- Expanded prepared foods options. Last week we launched the first of many new prepared foods items — turkey buckwheat bowl, greek turkey salad, and a beef & bean taco salad. We are expanding prepared foods in three categories, and would love your feedback and requests on what you’d love to see in each category. Send us an email to hi@eatradius.com with your thoughts! The vision is to make it even easier to eat local, seasonal, high-integrity meals. Come grab dishes for lunch and for dinner.
- Salad — composed salad dishes that are vegetable-focused but may include proteins, grains, or legumes. Examples: lettuce, charred okra, smoked blue cheese, and roasted pecan salad or watermelon and pickled jalapeño salad with lime-chili vinaigrette.
- Lunch — items that can be eaten cold or quickly reheated; ideal for midday meals, but can be eaten anytime. Examples: Lemongrass grilled chicken thighs with nuoc cham dipping sauce or spice roasted shrimp with green goddess yogurt sauce and smokey bean salad.
- Dinner — the centerpiece of a dinner meal, fully cooked and ready to heat and eat, so customers can just add a simple side like roasted root vegetables or a seasonal salad. Examples: Fully cooked meatloaf with tomato glaze, sticky five-spice pork belly, or herb-stuffed roasted lamb saddle.
- Butcher box. The monthly Radius Butcher & Provisions Box has been a big hit! We expanded the number of slots and those filled up quickly. We plan to add more members next month, so if you’re interested in signing up for October or beyond, join the waitlist. Each month features a balanced rotation of raw cuts, marinated favorites, cooked specialties, and house-made provisions — all prepared with the care and high sourcing standards you expect from Radius.
- Raw milk pre-orders. Pick up Four E Diary raw cow milk and Rusty Star Ranch raw goat milk at Radius every other Monday. September 22nd is the next pick-up. Go to OneMilkAgent.com to place your pick-up order and select Austin - Radius as your pick-up location.
- We tested Radius beef for plastic chemicals and compared the results to Whole Foods. Whole Foods beef tested positive across 8 different plastic compounds; Radius tested positive in 2. And for the compounds we tested positive for, our levels ranged from 2x to 15x less than the Whole Foods samples. Check out the Instagram post that went viral (1M+ views!) or read the full research study to learn more about the health implications of endocrine-disrupting plastic chemicals, our test results, and our theory on why Whole Foods beef has such high levels of plastic chemicals in its beef. Our goal at Radius is to offer food to our community with the maximum amount of nutrients and the minimum amount of toxins. This is the first of many tests we’ll do to build the cleanest possible food system.
Feedback
Our team lives by the mantra “Better Every Day.” We deeply value customer feedback — in fact the butcher box and expanded prepared foods options were inspired by community feedback. We listen and take action! If you have any requests or suggestions on how we can do better, please message us at hi@eatradius.com.
